As someone that makes a lot of the match pictures, I don't mind Allen doing the first couple rounds. Firstly, four matches a day means you need to be particular with them so they don't look like ass on smaller screens, something that I feel was a problem even when we had only two matches a day. Secondly, it means we avoid situations where someone puts a lot of time and effort into trying something original, but getting snubbed because one dude just cropped the box art and shoved it on the front page (2009 was terrible with this). Lastly, entrusting us with too many entrants means one entrant might get glossed over and that's how we end up with Vincent in a suit on the front page because only guy submitted from them.

I say this with some trepidation, only because there were definitely a few games in the bracket I would have jumped to make a really cool picture for, but they weren't exactly likely to make the later rounds. I do miss being able to create stuff with the fodder I do like in the contests.
