I've been on the fence about buying the remaster. I played Chronicles 2 and felt that it was enjoyable but painfully cliched and horribly voice acted. How does the original compare to XC2? XC2's voice acting improves immensely after the early going (and the expansion is leagues better), but the first game has one of the best dubs for any JRPG. Regarding cliches they are much less obvious. 2 cranked up the anime tropes in its first half, and while 1 uses some it's much subtler. The game was deliberately going for a much more Western feel in presentation, story, and gameplay than most other JRPGs. 2 went much more anime and over the top, but then tones it down a lot as it goes on. --- I just decided to change this sig.
