When choosing a career path when I was 18 I looked down on manual labor...sadly like most salaried office workers do (even if they dont realize it).

After getting a mostly desk job, I fantasize about being outside and working in construction. The skills that transfer to personal life, work with real meaning, physically seeing the progress of your labor, fresh air, exercise, a different meaning of professionalism, can eventually use your skills to run a company, coworkers who dont value 80h weeks, ability to take time off between jobs, Im a physicist and the trades likely use more math than I use day-to-day.

Not that my job sucks or anything.
