They say it to people who try to argue that because they have a hard job they should get special treatment. If a nurse kills a patient because they're scared and someone tries to argue that being a nurse is stressful, then feel free to use that... Nurses dont typically have to worry about being shot in the face when they do their jobs. Now they sorta do (i.e. metaphorically) because this virus is contagious and more lethal than the flu. A lot of them are getting sick from the virus, stressed and exhausted from the work, so some are quitting and complaining to the public and political leaders. Ive read at least one article about hospitals demanding their sick nurses return to work early, that is before the 14 day quarantine is up, which potentially could harm patients and coworkers.
