I think you maybe missed Barretts in Midgar, you need him in your party when you climb the stairs to fight Hojo. The rest are obtainable still I think. then i definitely don't have those i think i just died an hour into north cave to a seemingly random encounter after getting to the earth's core why are there no save points --- yet all sailors of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness ...
