Phil hates any game he plays, it's been obvious for a while now. He has no passion or enjoyment for what he does. He only "likes" games where he can turn his brain off and just mess around. Anything that requires more than the bare minimum will get you the known tirades where he shits all over the developers, how they have no idea what they are doing. Nothing is ever his fault either.

And if you look at his facial expressions on the face cam, you can see he is absolutely misserable playing any game that presents him even a minor challenge.

Phil is unhappy, he finds no enjoyment in streaming all day he has lost his passion for gaming a long time ago. He has become stuck. He enjoys the high income that he has, and if he wants to maintain that, he has to continue streaming the way he has done for the last years. This has caused him to resent playing video games.

You and I play video games because we want to. It's a past-time for us, a way to unwind after a long day of work or whatever. Phil plays video games because he HAS to. Yeah he could go burger flipping at McD, and he could actaully be happy doing that (I mean this in a nice way, do whatever makes you happy), but he'd hate losing his income.

All of Phil's problems could all be easily remedied, including his debts. Problem is, Phil isn't willing to make sacrifices that are needed to make him happy. He'd rather be rich, alone and miserable, than lose a good portion of his income and be happy. He is never going to have any passion for anything.

And what is worse, the way he talks about Kat his "wife", I am pretty convinced it's a loveless, passionless and sexless marriage. There is never any passion when he talks about her, he never mentions her in a way that shows his love and/or affection for her.

Hell, the most Phil seems to get exited is about his fucking cat, that he treats and talks to like it were a child.

And the only thing Phil seems to get any enjoyment out of (and I don't mean this in a judging way) is wrestling.

He is stuck, and he won't do anything to get out of it. He is now condemned to chase the high he gets when he receives and spends money, but that feeling only lasts for a little while. He is an addict. He has a spending addiction. I know we love to meme that "he needs that money, he really does, to pay his bills", but psychologically, yeah, he does.
I've said it before: if Phil wasn't such an awful person, I would feel real pity for him.
