Melee vs. Final Fantasy VII: 42.92% / 57.08% From recent contests we know that these results should be pretty close to what a non-rallied match result would be. Picking FF7 to beat CT is a gutsy upset pick at best. Claiming FF7 would win easily is absurd. Oh, I'm not saying CT wasn't stronger indirectly. But picking FF7 to lose to a fellow Squaresoft RPG just seems crazy. It's not impossible, though. For years we said Samus was indirectly stronger than Mario, but it didn't look like she'd ever actually beat him. And she still hasn't, but only because of the registered user bonus; she actually broke 51% in the raw vote in their Losers' Bracket match. But again, it's a moot point. Melee started rallying all the way back in Round 2 against GSC.
