I bet it's somewhere in the middle...... between 3000 and 1M. I say they're downplayed. You're talking about the same political party which murdered and intentionally starved over 30 million people for the Great Leap Forward, and who still admires Mao Zedong. The same political party that uses a "Social Credits" system in order to control people based on their actions, and a police state so bad, that Hong Kong citizens are actively rioting over.
