He never wanted to do the work that comes with it. Every smirk and smug smile he puts on, that's probably the only times you see him fleetingly happy. It's why he craves adulation and his rallies so much. I don't think he's miserable at all. Miserable implies he's overwhelmed with executing the duties of the highest office of the land. Quite the opposite, the guy just spends most of his time golfing and posting inflammatory bullshit on Twitter.
