I personally wouldn't take them out - they add another layer of strategy where you need to have a think about which clearings would be too dangerous for an enemy to possess. Since the player with dominion only wins on the beginning of their next turn, it makes everyone team up against them and if they can't hold their position, they're screwed for the rest of the game. It's much harder for the birds to win, so it's also a good way to counter balance that. Consider it kind of a final stand of a lower scoring player in late game.

It's because we sat there for over an hour arguing about how they were handled. Then my brother, the one that owns the game and was reading the rules, this is what he made me do -

[Blue, Birds]

  • Use it has one of my. . .top cards. The one you have to use 1 or 2 cards to put into a spot
  • Then not be able to do the stuff on my turn making me discard all of my cards [besides those 2 bird cards I always have up there] and put it off to the side
  • Then take a turn to grab and use the card
  • And then I could finally win
I had everything I needed when I got the card. I was above 10 and I had all 3 Owl locations. Like, I would get playing it and then giving everyone a chance to maybe make me lose one of those owl locations, but not 4 f'n steps to play a single card
