This is a dumb question. Literally all you need to do is listen to your governors and mayors. They're not all operating the same exact way. We didn't have a stay-at-home order in my city until 3 days ago. And nobody's saying "stay home and do absolutely nothing". When you do need to leave, whether it's because of essential errands or work, maintain safe and hygienic practices.

It's not a dumb question, because most of the country is already shut down. There are no dine in restaurants, movie theaters, and many retail places are closed. Essentially, there are no public gatherings unless people do them on their own--- so that's why I asked. How serious is this to be taken? Do I not see any of my friends for months? Do I not go over to their homes or them come to mine? That is what many of these orders are implying.
