The bigger pythons are a bit harder to deal with, but ball pythons are easy to care for. They aren't strong enough to hurt you, and usually good eaters. The various rat snakes are good beginners as well, but they are much less interactive. They constantly move, and many of them will musk or shit on you. I may be biased, but I am not a fan of them.
