That was one of Nintendo's more high-profile supply shortages. Probably after initial release, though. Initial release everywhere where I lived was the same. I'm not sure how long it took them to restock afterwards, though. But I do know that all the stores in the area always had like 10 of both Sony and Microsoft systems.
