Ehhhh, yes and no. The virus' penetrance - both confirmed and unconfirmed - does actually vary pretty considerably from country to country, thanks to differences in when it was introduced, measures that have been taken to slow it down, and cultural and environmental factors that coincidentally affect its spread. You therefore can't really assume that the rate of undiscovered cases is going to match anywhere else in the world unless you're comparing the US to a country in a near-identical situation (which doesn't really exist). It is, however, reasonable to assume that the number of undiscovered cases is going to be roughly as bad as the number of confirmed ones, especially when you consider that the US has been pretty slow to enact measures to control the virus' spread and the still-low testing rate.
