Hell, he was criticized for banning travel to China in January. The fact that things got this bad in the US was not some unthinkable scenario based on what we knew in January. In fact, it was an almost inevitable scenario without a concerted effort to prevent it given what was going on in China. The federal government should absolutely have been preparing in January for this scenario, from getting a robust testing capability in place to ramping up production of PPE and ventilators.
