| Kotetsu534 03/17/20 3:53:52 PM #120: | Heck yeah, I agree with you. I think FFX's regular battle theme gets all the hype, and the boss theme is a bit of an underrated gem. Whenever you hear a boss theme from a game, does a specific boss pop into your mind? It usually does for me. In this case, the boss I get reminded of is the fight with the Sin fin (the infamous fin that nearly beat Robotnik in 2005!) where the fin keeps moving around the battlefield as the fight progresses. This music really fits that part. This theme I associate more generally with just the early part of FFX - it's a clean, simple theme for when the plot and battles are quite straightforward (whereas the discordant techno themes like Challenge and Seymour Battle fit with when things get weird). Most of the boss themes I like I probably associate with a particular boss (e.g. Duel from MGS is Gray Fox's theme). An exception is if it's just used for lots of unremarkable bosses (e.g. Persona 3's normal boss theme). And for something very much not about the drama and tension...
