I mean, the sign did say carry out orders. That definitely sounds like the inside itself is open. Normally, you dont have to go to the dining area to get a carry out order. If they didnt want anyone inside at all, then that probably should have been written, and the doors locked. The fact that it said drive-thru and carry out makes it sound like you could order from the counter inside. Why else write it like that?

Also, I dont see how not telling someone earlier (like when he walked in) that the inside was close is better. That would make a difficult and belligerent customer even worse. And does literally waste their time. It was a poorly written sign, and he seemed to figure that out as he told him to basically ignore what the sign said. I feel you would want to get rid of a customer you dont want to deal with sooner rather than later...
