Inquisition did okay in GotY due to a complete lack of non-Smash competition. It got a lot of accolades on release but people don't care about it nearly as much as they used to. With that said, Ori is well-liked but never broke the indie glass ceiling, while Dragon Age is from a series people now and still kinda like. That's more than enough to cruise to a victory before being embarrassed later on.

Expected Result
Inquisition > Ori
68 - 32

Division 4, Round 1, Match 8
(2) Fire Emblem: Three Houses
(15) South Park: The Stick of Truth

Fire Emblem was a GotY runner-up. The year was weak, but still. Fire Emblem is on the rise and Byleth - in a move that was celebrated by absolutely everyone - was just added to Smash. South Park got a good amount of hype upon release, mostly due to the novelty of the concept, but honestly no one cares anymore. It's not a game that sticks with you as the years go by, and I'm surprised enough people remembered it to nominate it in the first place.

Expected Result
Three Houses > South Park
70 - 30
