People helping others in need (socialism) is a good thing. People keeping their hard-earned money (capitalism) is a good thing. Why does it have to be all or nothing? Why can't we let the good portions of each contribute to our economic decisions (while fighting the detrimental extremes)? This isn't rhetorical. I sincerely wonder why it's so hard to find a balance here. Capitalism can't exist in a perpetual balance. Under capitalism, profits have to increase. If there's no economic growth to provide that increase, it has to come from elsewhere.
