Since it'll come up: No, no one is saying that you need to be emotional if you're just naturally stoic. That's fine. The toxicity comes from forcing it and ignoring your mental health.
Yeah, stoicism to a degree can be healthy: you shouldn't be overwhelmed by your emotions, but you can't ignore them either. You need to be able to face up to them and process them healthily, and be able to talk about them with people you trust. Women are just generally taught to be more honest and open about their feelings when they are kids than we are.
