I saw a frozen dinner in the fridge - the same one(brand and type) I had last week, and I felt like I forgot about it. Once in a blue moon i'll go out to eat and leave whatever I brought in there, which one day last week I got burger king instead of eating whatever I brought.

He takes his lunch break and comes out a minute later from the back room asking who ate his lunch. I confessed immediately. I was 100% certain it was mine I left in there, but it was actually his.

So, I apologized profusely and felt like an ass. To make up for it I bought him a new frozen dinner and a big bag of lays potato chips that he always eats, right after our shift was over. I will bring these items with me tomorrow. I know what I did was dumb. He seemed annoyed but not mad, though I don't know. I feel like buying him a replacement meal and a bag of chips(which I did not eat) oughtta smooth things over. if not oh well, I did my best to make up for it.

Should be all right. It was a pretty lousy thing to do, but he's probably mostly annoyed that he basically paid for *your* lunch & didn't get what he might've been looking forward to having. Also, if he didn't have time to grab anything else to eat instead, he might have been a bit hangry.

I think you'll be OK with what you're planning - you're making up for the financial loss & being courteous at the same time. That's a good move.
