Im no big city lawyer but maybe @solosnake can explain if this is a good thing

I mean it sounds like a good thing for us in the real world but its less ammo for the trolls.

It was referenced in one of the earlier articles about this that you conveniently skipped over. Crytek has been moving for dismissal for a while because they can't move forward on the case until Squadron 42 is actually released, so in the meantime they've been burning a lot of money on legal fees keeping the case moving along. They filed the case back when Squadron 42 was supposed to be released like 6 months later, but since it was delayed significantly like everything else, it became a giant money sink for them. In this case, dismissal doesn't mean that they have decided Cloud Imperium has done nothing wrong. It's literally because they are taking so long to release their product that Crytek is spending more on legal fees than they would have gained from the lawsuit. As was mentioned in the other article, their plan is to file a new lawsuit once the product is released.

Edit: and again, the entire basis of the lawsuit is that cloud Imperium games insists that Squadron 42 is a separate product and not a module for Star Citizen. Which they only did so that they could have it developed by a wholly-owned subsidiary company run by the CEO's wife and his brother. Which they only did because that allows them to get extra tax credits from countries where they have offices located. It also means that it's a misappropriation of funds since they're funneling crowdsourced money for one product given to one company to a different company for a different product. The entire thing is a giant financial scam.
