As Dire has pointed out, they seem to work very well in context, with (maybe) motifs that keep popping in. As standalone tracks theyre okay but lack that spark for me. This one I do like, despite being a happy song. Honestly if I had to redo this ranking, it would probably be a bit higher, at least 6.5. Sorry Zyx! 78. Pokmon Masters - Battle! Lear https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pBKm2U-l9Q @Hbthebattle Haruki Yamada, Shota Kageyama On first listen this appears to be a standard battle theme, but theres something extra about it. I think the overall presentation feels sharper than the average battle theme, like the instruments pop out more and the composition is smooth. Theres also a strong sense of hopelessness and fear. Still only a 6 though, because I yet again dont really connect strongly to it. Im sure youre all tired of hearing me say that. 77. Pokmon Ranger: Guardian Signs - Riding on Legendary Beast https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_906lWNGbM Hbthebattle Kenichi Koyano, SIGERO, Keisuke Oku As I said above, this soundtracks instruments are kind of tinny and off-sounding, but this song and Faldera Volcano are both pretty cool! This song in particular is super catchy and brings this nice forward momentum all throughout. We have now officially reached the point where I am actively enjoying listening to the songs. Hooray! ...
