Because people are out there legit losing their homes over this shit but we dont really talk about those games. Microtransactions are some of the most common complaints about video games in the modern era. We're finally starting to see some results from the constant protests. Battlefront II removed the predatory loot box system, Shadow of War removed its microtransactions altogether, laws are being made and passed to ban lootbox gambling, etc. Star Citizen is just one of the most ridiculous examples of it. Charging $2,500 for a ship in a game that isn't even finished yet? Altering the refund policy because people were holding them to their word to release the game in a timely manner?
