I know it may sound silly to the more cynical of you but imagining those two in that hospital room in October, when everyone was counting Bernie out, only for AOC to tell him that she had chosen THAT moment to endorse him... still gets me misty eyed.

I think AOC is... maybe yeah literally the same as Bernie but with her age has a more nuanced understanding of the social connective tissue whereas Bernie just takes his lived experience of growing up poor and goes "fuck that no one should go through that." Bernie's a bit more to the point whereas AOC "gets" it more.

I don't know how the next 20 years will go down, but I think one of Bernie's most important lasting legacies will likely be the generation he inspired that will transform America even after he is gone. Fuck that quote about "Society is great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit under" I am donating again LET'S DO THIS.
