The pure, almost chaste vision of heroism and the desire to use it to mend familial breaks... this is what Shazam has always been about. He believes that there is a Norman Rockwell world out there for him because it hasn't been beaten out of him by the departure of adolescence. Just my opinion of why it works so well. The perspective of a child is fresh in comparison to a general jaded cynicism of adulthood in other superhero movies. --- "It is too easy being monsters.
