it matches what crematories were saying in how they're going 24/7 and don't have enough staff or supplies.
when the initial story broke it was considered fake, within a week government said to burn every suspected death asap. that goes for anyone they knew with it and anyone who died of pneumonia that wasn't tested - and therefore isn't included in the current statistics. it's one of the known underreporting factors.

this is mostly a story continuing from previous information as people are trying to get info from crematories. we know of at least 7 in Wuhan that are supposedly going 24/7 and have been for the past 2 weeks, saying they're understaffed, overworked, don't have enough supplies, article on this interviewed two in different regions - one of the three downtown, one of the four suburban, both confirmed this and one said they're doing 100+ a day. so people are trying to get info on this since that's one of the few things harder to hide.

don't know what part you're from but this is mostly Wuhan. same with the door to door checks and forced containment camps, that's explicitly from the vice premier in charge of the situation in Wuhan who called it wartime conditions. outside of that area i don't think anything is nearly as extreme and while there's definite hyperbole on some media reports - Guangzhou City's warnings for example - Wuhan's the biggest one people are looking at.
