The idea is that treating all reasonably credible accounts as serious allows real victims to feel like it's ok for them to share their story and to get any emotional support/help they might need. It doesn't mean that there should be any less scrutiny or consideration when deciding whether or not to punish/prosecute the people on the receiving end of the accusations. --- Oh woops.
