The best advice anyone can give you is to go find a local pub that offers tasting flights of craft beers and try everything on the menu (possibly over multiple trips, depending on the size of the menu). Make note of what you like/dislike and why, and that'll give people something more to work with than "I like whiskey and don't like Bud Light." Meh not much for those tasting.
