They do however have a very significant impact on how it is run and have since before we existed as a nation. To criticize something you do need some level of familiarity. Like take for instance the religion I mentioned earlier. I could not criticize Zoroastrianism because my knowledge of it consists of that it still exists, it was a religion of the Persian people and that good and evil are important themes.
