Threaten that I can give as well as take away, and that if I die the power keeping his cancer gone will vanish. That's honestly probably the safest way to do it. Or even better, play it up as a mystical power, warn them that doing anything to harm me will result in a curse falling upon their family line for all time, and then cure the cancer to prove enough that they won't test the rest. ...
