This implies people (including kids) want to know and not just to be proven right. Stuff like "because I said so" can be because there's no good reason but it can also be because you already gave them the good reason and they just didn't want to hear it.

I mean how many times have you been on CE and some idiot plugs his ears and tries to argue you into a circle?
