Oddly enough, the meta joke is another one of my pet peeves.
Pretty much nothing on the internet avoids having at leat one, and the majority of those have a meta joke about the meta joke, and it's just so overdone I don't get how anybody thinks any part of this is still clever. Even worse when the time left is similar to the actual time, so you don't realize that someone didn't clear the timer. For example you see it say 1:42, and you know the current time is roughly between 1 and 2, so you push buttons to set the timer for your food and nothing happens. It takes a little while to realize that the number is the timer and not the clock. I hate when people stack bowls inside of bowls and lids on lids, all different sizes, so if your looking for a certain size with a certain lid you have to pull the whole stack out, deconstruct it, put it back together and put it away. Microwaves that start automatically after one button press unless you push time cook or something first. It's a microwave. You cook stuff for 20 seconds, 55 seconds, 1:15... You might get into multiple minutes for something that's frozen solid. Even then, there's a good chance it's 4:30 or 3:15. So like, even with the optional add 30 sec button, who isn't pushing time cook the majority of the time?
