Change Primeape to a Mankey if he's too hard after that. Jasmine and Price at least already had a Johto Pokemon. But I think the problem there is that they wanted you to discover the new Pokemon on your own. So they wanted you to find Pineco for the first time by headbutting trees and find Sneasel and Misdreavus randomly in the final dungeon.
