I'm pretty sure it was the 50 cal. I don't actually remember, this was years ago. So I might not have been, I didn't ask because i just assumed that it was the 50 cal version because I didnt know it came in different calibers.
The .50 AE caliber models are probably the best selling DEs by virtue of what that type of customer is looking for, but the .44 Mag and .429 models are pretty common still. It could go either way.

To be honest, a more discerning gun owner would probably pick it up in the .44 Mag, because at that caliber it is a somewhat pleasant range gun. Even .50 AE DEs are more pleasant to shoot than .50 AE revolvers though, which is the way most people probably experience the cartridge. It's not a huge difference, but the springs that operate the gas system will help delay some of the reciprocal mass at least. Still, anyone that tells you they like to take a .50 AE DE to the range and shoot it for a couple hours is lying. The ammo is expensive and the bruising you'll get on your hand after a few magazines will be annoying at best. The gun is a novelty. Get a nice 9mm handgun in service size and you can shoot all day.

I presume my time here in my darkblack dragondark steel-obliterating solitude has come to its end as well.
