If it were proven reliable no.

I've had some personal experience with falling asleep while driving. I was driving from Illinois to central Florida about 15 years back and powered through the entire trip in one go almost entirely by myself. I drove from the Illinois/Kentucky border to Florida by myself. Somewhere on 95 after Jacksonville at Jesus Christ it's late O'Clock I nodded off while driving. I don't know if it was for a few seconds or a few minutes but somehow I miraculously avoided disaster. Made myself a solemn promise that if I ever found myself in a situation like that I'm stopping to sleep wherever I can find that's safe. It's a terrifying realization about what could have been.

About 6 months ago I found out that one of my uncle's I don't keep in touch with fell asleep driving and had a hellacious accident where he crossed a line into a head on collision and killed a lady. He is now having to learn to walk again while also very likely staring at some serious charges and a lawsuit.

I'll let a car self drive all day if it actually works.
