Are self-driving cars unmanly?

In my opinion, it's just not manly to let your car drive for you, unless you're very tired or under the influence, and use it for safety reasons.

Getting stupid sloppy pukey drunk at a bar, then just waking up in your own garage somehow, is the fucking manliest thing that ever manned.

Depends whether or not a human who identifies as a man is occupying the vehicle.

I think anyone who has to drive their own car in 2020 is unmanly.

That's fair. Getting ludicrously drunk and wanting to wake up at home shouldn't be specific to either (or any) gender.

Hell no wtf

Driving is the single most painful thing that you have to do on a daily basis

It's like asking if not stabbing yourself in the hand is unmanly

I also only buy manual transmission cars.
Robot car would definitely be preferred, though.

If it were proven reliable no.

I've had some personal experience with falling asleep while driving. I was driving from Illinois to central Florida about 15 years back and powered through the entire trip in one go almost entirely by myself. I drove from the Illinois/Kentucky border to Florida by myself. Somewhere on 95 after Jacksonville at Jesus Christ it's late O'Clock I nodded off while driving. I don't know if it was for a few seconds or a few minutes but somehow I miraculously avoided disaster. Made myself a solemn promise that if I ever found myself in a situation like that I'm stopping to sleep wherever I can find that's safe. It's a terrifying realization about what could have been.

About 6 months ago I found out that one of my uncle's I don't keep in touch with fell asleep driving and had a hellacious accident where he crossed a line into a head on collision and killed a lady. He is now having to learn to walk again while also very likely staring at some serious charges and a lawsuit.

I'll let a car self drive all day if it actually works.
