I don't order delivery much anymore, unless it's through uber eats. The tipping on that is auto 15%, and now...they force you to do it through their website.

I think it was postmates that would deduct the tip from how much of the service fee drivers go, so I used to tip in cash, almost all of em force you to do it though their site now though. Not sure if they stopped screwing over the drivers when they did that or not.

Most pizza places that deliver directly have waaaay upped their delivery fees though, it's pretty crazy. It's one primary reason I don't get pizza delivered from them (also I try not to eat too much pizza). Honestly if your paying 7-8$ fee for delivery, you really shouldn't need to tip at all. I checked (along time ago) and yeah, that money doesn't go to the driver it's for "delivery costs" for the company which includes paying the driver a min wage.

Maybe it's just here in Washington and other states that pay min wage for tipping jobs, but it's really messed up.

I swear, they have a min 20$ food order for most pizza places that deliver here, and then a 7-8$ delivery fee + tax, even without tip you can't get a pizza to your house for less than $30 it's crazy. If I wanted to order from Salamones....you would not believe how much it costs, for a double extra cheese pizza (they only have one size). Total cost after everything (delivery fee, tax, service fee etc) but not including tip......was $43.......for 1 normal sized pizza. If I actually go to the store it's only $29...which is still pretty bad (that is after tax).

The universe is helping me avoid eating pizza I guess.
