The wealth tax is fundamentally flawed and stupid. If you want to punish the rich for being rich, there are less onerous and less impractical ways to do it. Granted, a lot of the other proposals -- such as increased capital gains taxes -- would likely hurt Americans saving for retirement (as well as discourage investment), although individuals like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren don't seem to like the idea of people saving for retirement since it leads to unequal outcomes (vs those who don't save) and would rather everybody be limited to social security.
