Every poll I've seen out of Japan had Dimitri winning it, not Byleth. In the west it's hard to say but I bet Edelgard is the most popular. I get why Byleth was chosen, only character you get regardless of route, etc., but I can't not be disappointed here; Edelgard and Dimitri are two of my favourite characters period and Claude's great too and I figured there was a decent chance we'd get one of them, so Byleth just deconfirmed all three.
