The moderation system on this site is pretty shitty. It doesn't really discourage bad users. And it doesn't help the good users to stay good because you may not actually know what the moderation is for these days. As they can just saying offensive, and don't have to answer you. But instead, let other mods vote. And the votes usually uphold (not always, though) the moderation. So, it sucks. They also want to reward people for lying down and playing dead when they are modded, and kind of punish you when you stand up for yourself against an unfair mod, IIRC...

Yeah, the system is pretty deeply flawed on any number of fundamental levels. The biggest issue will always be the broad discretionary powers given to mods which is meant to resolve the fact that the admins dislike transparent, clear policies because they worry about abuse.
