Depends on if you want a real job or if you want to waste a few years of your life barely making ends meet on some nowhere English teaching job. If you want a real job you better get fluent or at least pass the JLPT N1 (not that hard really) and/or have an advanced degree in a relevant field. Japan has a labor shortage yes, but most of it is low level labor.
