Statistics show that if a man seeks full (not split) custody, he wins over 80% of the time. There's other factors that probably are at play. There's also not as many men looking for sole custody so the ones who do almost all actually want the kids. The research I found didn't note their income but I'd not be surprised if it were mostly just middle upper class men seeking sole custody.
