I got no clue how it works, but I know a guy who told me he easily got custody of children.

Turns out men don't usually even ask for custody. When they do ask they have about a 50% chance of winning like you expect.

Also nobody automatically assumes the man pays alimony. It's always from the higher earner to the lower earner with a custody factor involved. For example if someone makes only a little more money and has custody of the children they might both get child support and not have to pay alimony.

Anyone saying the family courts are biased against men is arguing from anecdotal evidence or false pretenses.
