Late but not too late small writeups for open teams

Denver Broncos - One of the premier franchises from the past five seasons, they are coming off of a season where they have a case for best team to not make the playoffs. They went 10-6, but had a great point differential and an elite defense. The offense is mostly veterans, but the defense is in the midst of a successful youth movement. Anyone interested would have to work a little bit with their financial health.

Oakland Raiders - They are coming off of back-to-back playoff appearances that include a spot in the AFC Championship Game and a #1 seed in the AFC. The defense has always been great, but the offense really took off this past season. They have a very bright future ahead for them. Great financial health.

Washington Hawks - Coming off of their best season yet, which included a 12-4 record and a playoff victory. The offense is going to look very different soon with its starting QB, WRs, and TE in the final seasons of their careers. That defense has seen quite a few retirements in recent years but has drafted very well on that side of the ball.

New York Jets - Statistically, they should have been a 7-8 win team, but they could pick as high as #3 in the upcoming draft. The good news is that their poor record last season was certainly due to poor injury luck. There aren't many areas that need a lot of work. Financial health should be great.

Baltimore Ravens - They are coming off of back-to-back AFC North crowns.Typically one of the league's best defenses, they finished above-average this past season. They are always among the best running teams in the league, but their passing attack was possibly the best they have had. They are getting long in the tooth though. Financial health needs work.

Cincinnati Bengals - They've kind of flown under the radar these past two seasons. They have been inconsistent, but when they're on, they might be the best team in the AFC North with their balance. They could use some talent infusion though. Financial health seems to be fine.

Columbus Pioneers - Normally an elite offense team, they are coming off their worst offensive season since maybe their move to Columbus. The defense completely turned things around by finishing just outside the Top 10. Regression to the mean suggests that the offense will gain some semblance to what they were. Good financial health.

Seattle Seahawks - Offense was banged up but overall as complete and balanced as it was a season ago. The defense sagged a little but not by much. A person's touch might be all that it needs to be a force. Financial health should be fine.

St. Louis Rams - They are coming off of a very weird season where they began 1-6 with the league's #1 D and finished 8-8 with the NFC West crown. The running game needs an overhaul and the offensive line is aging, but that defense is fantastic. There are some older players who will need to be replaced or have a succession plan in place though.

Dallas Cowboys - They have been and continue to be the presumptuous Super Bowl favorite until their team completely falls apart. They are elite in every facet of the game. They are in poor financial health and will need a lot of work to get under the salary cap.

Minnesota Vikings - Throughout the league's entire history, people probably think about the Buccaneers, Dolphins, and Jaguars when they think of the most consistently good teams, but the Vikings have had more seasons with a Top 10 O and D than any other team. They added one last season, and if not for both of their MVP candidates suffering season-ending injuries in Week 16 or 15, they could have given the Cowboys a run for their money in the playoffs. Team has had the most retirements over the past few seasons, and they should see a few more in the seasons to come. Financial health is fine.

Anaheim Lightning - This team has the most work to do. Having seasons and seasons of putrid OL play, it is now one of the strengths of the team. Unfortunately, a new QB, TE, and secondary is probably in the cards. A general talent infusion is needed. Financial health should be fine.
