$1000 is pretty standard for any new phone now or close to it if you're getting something top of the line. i've had mine near 2 years and still works pretty good for the most part. my charging port is a little iffy tho so i might just replace it myself for like $20-30. battery life is dying a bit but i still get like 5 hours of screen time with it and have a battery case i keep at work if i'm not able to plug it in. it still has better battery life then the lg g4 i had before or my old s8. had extended batteries on both of those and even those were only getting around the same battery life i have now.
