Topic	If you dont have kids.... why not?

It basically never works out the way everyone thinks where the kids welcome the parent(s) into their home and take care of them in their final years. I can understand it from both ways. You looked after them when they needed you, they should return the favour, right? Though at the same time, the kids are probably trying to start a family of their own and carve out their own path in life. Looking after a parent (especially a sick one) can be a burden and they might be more comfortable just letting professionals in a home take care of it. To be completely honest, I'm struggling too much in life right now to even consider having kids. I know people still find ways of making it work and I'm sure I could do that too. I just wonder what kind of life they would have, and will they still be able to make a life for themselves in another 20+ years or will they have even less opportunities than I do now? That sort of thing. To me it's not something that I would consider a light decision to make. I won't have kids just because I think it would be cool to be a dad or because my girlfriend wants a cute baby or whatever. That's stupid.
