Grabbed some more blind-boxes. Was in Wal-Mart picking up some other shit and saw The Loyal Subjects' MotU blind-boxes for $10. Even though I realized that Battle Cat and Panthro weren't possibilities (*those* I kinda want), I picked up in the hopes of getting Sorceress or Skeletor (or Mer-Man... although Ram-Man would have been okay) and with the knowledge that, except for maybe Stunkor or Orko, there was no character I really didn't want. Wound up getting Fisto, which isn't a thrilling surprise. At any rate, $10 is a bit much for a blind-box even if the figurines are articulated (and there's not much functional posing with something that size so he's going to stand vanilla on my shelf).

Went over to Target since I was in the area anyway, saw that they had Funko's Universal Studios Horror Mystery Minis (I think I only saw the one box) and Aladdin Mystery Minis. I love the old Universal films and had been meaning to pick up another blind-box (first one I bought -- back before Halloween -- had Frankenstein, which wasn't a top choice but I wound up being happy with it). Aladdin I had passed on simply because I didn't care enough, but figured a few of the characters might be neat. Wound up getting another Frankenstein (what are the odds?! Well, probably 1/12 =x) and the Target exclusive Genie-Jafar. I kinda hadn't wanted the Genie-Jafar (since I already own the Pop!) but... I kinda like the look of it.

Also picked up a Target-exclusive ( wireless Switch controller for $15. I had been meaning to get a rechargeable one (probably the $28 one or whatever third-party one that somebody had mentioned in a topic a while ago), but I figure I could always buy rechargeable batteries or something and that this could have a longer life for having batteries instead of a rechargeable. This way I'll feel safer playing some fighting games since I was worried about wearing out the joycons, which are expensive to replace.

The firat reactions of, The Rise of Skywalker are in, and the film is doing what i thought it would do, which is spend a great deal of time course correcting from The Last Jedi.

I will see the movie early next week, but I assume that the first 45 minutes will be fixing what Rian Johnson broke, the next 45 will be plot, and the final 20 will be rushed climax to tie everything into a neat bow.

I know I'm not wrong on this one. Which is why J.J. should have written and directed all three films in the first damn place. What do you all think?

JJ was 90% of the problem with this trilogy, so that'd only make things worse. Honestly, the best parts of TLJ blow the best parts of TFA out of the water, even if the worse parts are a bit worse. TFA was so lousy I almost contemplated rewatching TPM to get the taste out of my brain. The only way to have a great RoS would be to restart almost everything from scratch.

Of course, the easiest TLJ correction would be killing Rose, which takes less than a minute.
