Most people have agreed that beating the kid up was wrong. The position is more along the lines of "this is to be expected if he was as racist as his mother sounds," not "I'm glad he got beaten up." That said, it's a lot harder to be sympathetic toward somebody who got hurt after antagonizing people to the point of inciting violence than it is to be sympathetic to a more innocent victim. Although, given the age, I am actually pretty sympathetic to the kid, regardless of the circumstances. If he was being a racist prick to such an extent as to elicit a beating, that's coming pretty much entirely from his upbringing. He hasn't been around long enough to learn to be racist on his own, meaning he's a victim of both this beating and some garbage parenting. That's just sad. --- This is my signature.
