1: There have been numerous studies which demonstrate immigration has a positive impact on average wages, but not a single one that concludes immigration depresses the overall average wages of workers in the US. Even the most conservative research studies have only managed to show negative impacts on specific demographics in specific neighborhoods (i.e. unskilled laborers without high school diplomas) and even these studies still conclude that immigration to the US has a positive influence on both economy and wages for the native US population. The overwhelming research consensus on the topic points to immigration being a net positive for wages, and pretending there exists some major contention on that point among researchers or economists shows you're either lying or comically misinformed on the topic.

2:"god of the gaps" is not a synonym for willful ignorance, and even if it were, it still wouldn't be an excuse for making arguments that you cannot back up with empirical evidence.
